I set off my new alarm yesterday by accident. I heard the alarm for the first time&it was not loud at all&not what I was told at installation. I pushed the button marked DISARMED by accident in my confusion (I was supposed to put in a pin number) and was surprised that the whole thing shut down. I got no call from Monotronics&the monitoring company for this outfit.

As I see it there are 3 major things wrong with this system:
1. A faulty DISARM system&easily turned off by anyone who can read
2. A substandard alarm sound
3. A substandard monitoring company

When I called to get this serviced immediately, I was told I would need to take a half day off from work. They didn't mind keeping me up until midnight installing it the same day they sold it to me&after very high pressure sales tactics. I have only had this system a month and when I told them to cancel it&they told me I owed them 80% of the contract and that the service contract required me to be home between 8:00 and 5:00.

As far as I'm concerned, they did not fulfill their end of the bargain&I have had a bad system and have been in danger the entire time because of their negligence. I am planning to seek legal recourse.
