I needed io buy a few replacement aluminum strips to hold awning fabric to house. I called company and was quoted a price of 9.95 for a 6 foot length, plus 7.95 shipping. I need 3 pieces and was told the shipping is 23.85. I asked if they all could be sent in 1 tube. I was told they were and the shipping they charge is a set charge for each piece no matter how they are sent. I told her that I was very displeased with a shipping policy like that and to give management my feedback. These pieces are only 1,1/2 inches wide and 1/16 thick aluminum and 6 foot long. They weigh next to nothing.
I cold see paying a little more because of sending 3 but you dont charge a customer 3 times over for a situation as this. We bought this awning new and spent a considerable amount of money on it and the additional accessories we bought, and I think that type of shipping policy is a slap in a customers face. Also we did have a strap break on the awning pull withen 6 monthsof new under warranty and was told they would send it if we paid shipping.
I have never really heard of a warranty shipping charge. I think I have said enough, but in a economy as it is today I think it is a very bad practice to try to gouge you customers for shipping that is way over what it should be. I probably will have to buy these parts from them, but that will hopefully be the last transaction we do with SunSetter Products.
