I bought a $1400.00 dishwasher from Best Buy online; their website said for a fee (which I paid) they would deliver and install the new dishwasher and take away my old one. What they don't tell you, until after they have your money, that it will be months between each step, and you will need to take off TWO days from work because it is Best Buy policy to make delivery and installation separate.
In order to get the old dishwasher taken away, it must be disconnected and removed from the counter when they deliver the new one, but the installation crew, who are paid to disconnect and remove the old, won't come until AFTER delivery per Best Buy policy, so there is no way they will actually remove the old unit that they were paid to remove.
You have to coordinate the delivery and installation, which has totalled 48 phone calls, three trips to two different stores, and hours on hold. Each time you call you get a totally different explanation of what you need to do to get this task completed. Best Buy contracts the delivery company and the installation company, but feels it is beneath them to actually coordinate the two. So you spend days calling back and forth, begging someone to let you get a delivery and an installation date in the same month, so you don't have a dishwasher sitting in your living room for months.
Customer service is no help, they act like they have done you a favor by taking $1600 ($200 for installation). They say the reason they can't have one company deliver and install is because that is not Best Buy's way of doing business.
If you buy an appliance from Best Buy, they won't tell you you will need to take off work several days to coordinate delivery and installation, then two more, one ofr delivery and one for installation. Nor will they tell you that eveyone you talk to at Best Buy will think this isn't asking too much of you.
Don't give these people your money. This is the last purchase I make with them, and if there were anyway to get my money back and go to someone else I would. I begged several managers, offered to pay $500 if they would just let me get my dishwasher delivered and installed on the same day, but that is obviously asking too much of Best buy.
