Bought a Kenmore Elite 24" Built-In Dishwasher w / 360° PowerWash™ and it was delivered May 23. My son installed it and we paid him for his time. The installation went very smooth. We put a few dishes in the dishwasher and it stopped after about 10 minutes saying that it could not fill. Canceled the cycle and ran it again with the same results. Called for repair. Repair man came the following week. Said that the way the hose was installed that the dishwasher was siphoning water from the dishwasher. He put a loop in the drain hose and did not test the dishwasher before he left. Same results. Called for service again. Service man came on Monday and spent a lot of time checking it out. He said that the computer/electronic board was defective. He said that it would be ordered and sent to our home and he would be back on Friday to install it. The part did not arrive. I called Thursday and asked for another dishwasher. They said that they would deliver it, but that we would be charged for installation if we wanted it. I said that I did not intend to pay for delivery again since I paid for it once for defective equipment! I asked to speak to his manager and he said that he could not do that. I again asked to speak to someone higher up and he said that he would send a message. I said that I wanted to have the dishwasher returned. I had already been on the phone with this man for 40 minutes. He said that he had to write a report that would take 15 minutes and that I would have to wait on the phone with him. I asked him why I needed to be on the phone while he wrote up the report. He said that I could call back when I had more time. Then he made me wait an additional time while he rung up the return slip. I was on the phone 70 minutes with this man and only got more frustration. I paid $944 for delivery, installation kit and the dishwasher and sales tax. He said that I could only be refunded $807. The delivery was $70. The difference is $137.

What essentially happened is that we purchased a dishwasher on line. It was delivered and we paid an additional $100 to have my son install it. (Nothing in the installation caused the defect by the way.) We had the dishwasher for 19 days and could not use it and could not get it repaired in a timely fashion. We asked Sears to take it back.in doing so, OUR PURCHASE AND RETURN OF A SEARS DISHWASHER COST US $237. I plan to call the Better Business Bureau, the Ohio Attorney General and possibly make file suit in the small claims court if this cannot be resolved with a 100% return on our money or a new, working dishwasher (the same model that we ordered and paid for) installed at no additional cost to us. I was told tonight on the phone that that would not happen.
