Oakwood Acceptance, Vanderbilt Mortgage, CRS
They say I owe a mortgage to these companies, after my home was vandilized and I gave the money to have it repaired, and now they say that I owe 11,620

Well, in 2001 my dad got sick, me and my husband and children were going to visit him out of town. When we returned to our home, it was vandilized, someone broke the toliet and made the walls and floors cave in. Our insurance company evuated the damage and estimated that 7500.00 in damage had been done. We got our own estimate and it turned out that it was much more to have it repaired.

We called Oakwood Acceptance at the time and told them of the situation, we came to the conclusion that we would surrender the mobile home and gave the money that we got from the insurance company to Oakwood to repair the damage.

Well, all of a sudden me and my husband recently decided we wanted to buy a home, well the under writer to our mortgage would not approve it because Oakwood fixed the mobile home and sold it for more then we paid for it. Now all of a sudden this Vanderbilt Mortgage came into the picture and said we owed over 11,000 dollars to them for damages to the home, i told them that we gave over 7500.00 dollars to Oakwood to have the home repaired. Now they are telling me that we have to pay this mortgage that we never approved to have before it would be taken off our credit report. They have no documentation of any accounts of why I have to pay this money. They can't prove nothing and I am sick of this.

We don't understand how Oakwood could sell our home for more then it was worth and make a profit and then all of a sudden Vanderbilt mortgage comes in and says hey you owe us money for the mobile home. I think that if i took out a mortgage then why in the heck didn't I know that. This a fishy situation and so unfair. I don't know whatelse to do except fight for my rights. Why didn't someone tell me that I owed money for something I never approved. I can't believe the stuff people can do without your permission.
