In my husband cosigned for our son to purchase a mobil home from oakwood acceptance corp. Due to circumstances beyond their control they were in the home less than 4 months. My husband and son relinquished the trailer home back to oakwood acceptance with the verbal guarantee that the mobil home would not go on their credit as they were relinguishing the trailer back to the company for resale and not repossesion.in i was trying to get a mortgage loan on my home that is paid for and oakwood had listed the mobil home on our credit stating that we still had a $40,000 loan with them.
I wrote letters to them and telephoned them and the mobil home was suppose to have been taken off our credit. The mortgage company i was dealing with stated that it came off our credit this was in may. Here it is dec. 2004 and it is back on my credit and my sons... We do not know where the mobil home is located and do not know the person that purchased it today... A representative from vanderbilt told us the name and the account number but refused to contact them to have this taken off our credit and put on theirs since they are making the payments and undoubtly living in the mobil home. This is not fair and i feel the government should take action against unfair practices against oakwood acceptance and vanderbilt mortgage company.
