I bought my daughter a refridgerator because she was moving into an apartment that did not have one and the landlord went out of town and left her with out one for the weekend and a few days. The landlord said he would get one but he would have to raise the rent $25.00 extra a month to recoup his cost. I told her I would buy her one at a used place. So we called a couple of places and she went down and looked. She found one. Mean while I am in Florida. Not wanting her to be stuck over the weekend without one and for her to lose her grocieries she had at her other place, I agree to buy her one at this place.
Now the first one she looked at cost $150.00 but the seal was bad. I asked the guy if he could fix it. He said yeah and handed the phone back to my daughter and took a piece of paper towel tore it off folded it and placed it under the seal and called it fixed. Next, we thought no that is not right so we told them so and looked at another one. Then they wanted $225.00 for it. I asked if they would take $200.00 They said no they have to much in it. They kept talking up the fridge. Finaly they said even if it goes bad past the 30 days I will come out and fix it no problem. We made it quite clear we needed it this day cause she does have one and the reason why I was buying it. After I buy it and gave him my credit card number they say they can't deliver it. WE said we told you up front we needed it today. Any way her dad came and got it for her. Then they said if she bought the parts they would come and hook up the ice maker. The fridge died after one day only and she lost all her food. They took a couple of days to come out to fix it. They put a regulator on it and called it fixed. She goes off to the store to buy more groceries. The fridge was far from fixed. She lost all those groceries. Now its been 7-8 days and nobodys been out to fix it or will return a call and she lives accross the street. Today she is upset mom I can't afford to keep eating out. I haven't even been able to find my kids a bowl of cereal cause the milk won't stay cold. She lives on a fixed income. She is a college student with two small kids and I am on disability. Now we are out more than what it would have cost if I would have just bought her a new one to begin with. I want to go ahead and buy her a new one but they will not refund the money. The appliance worked less then 24 hours. I bought it on 3-3-08. Where is the justice in this world and how do people like this sleep at night? The owner is not available for us to talk to. Hasn't been from the very beginning of this adventure.
All we want is for them to make this right with us.
