The Gutter Sense tool broke the first time I used it. I read the instructions and properly used it. Robert Segal the owner of Gutter Sense will not refund my money. He said that I mishandled the tool. He went on to state that if the tool was dropped this could cause harm. I paid $6.50 shipping and the tool arrived in a box without any bubblewrap to protect it during shipping.
In one of his emails back to me, he gave me additional instructions about the tool that weren't on the original instructions that came with the tool. He still insists I mishandled the tool. He was condescending... inferring that because I am a woman I don't know what I am doing.
There is only one testimonial on his website. I tried filing a complaint with the BBB but they were of no help. His guarantee is useless if the tool is used properly and it breaks. I believe the tool was damaged during shipping or something else was wrong with it. He said that the only defect is if there are bubbles in the plastic. I didn't see any... But it doesn't mean they weren't there before it broke. It is made of plastic. Delivery people aren't very careful about how they handle packages.
I feel that I was ripped off of $26.45. No tool that is made properly and used properly should break the first time it is used. This is what happened to me. All I wanted to do was clean out my gutters.
Mr. Segal did offer me a new tool at half price. I don't want to send him anymore of my money for a tool that breaks that easily. I want a refund of the full purchase price. A good businessman wouldn't blink an eye at a refund $19.95.
