In February we contracted Kitchen Options to do a custom kitchen in our new home. At that time, Ray Bochek (president) said complete tear-down and install would take 3 to 3-1/2 weeks. It ended up taking 4 months before I finally told him never to come back. I sued them for over $8000 and won. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY AS KITCHEN CONTRACTORS.
They have the least experienced, least qualified employees working. My brand new walls and ceilings are horrible looking with dings and bubbles and you can still see the drywall tape even after painting. Outlets were placed in wrong places, undercabinet lighting was placed too low. Light switches were put in behind the stove and had to be cut out and moved. Molding was put on a wall upside-down.
The base cabinets were so far out of level, the granite company refused to template and I had to hire someone separate to have this work completed. Also, I had already paid Kitchen Options for the granite (there stupid contract says 50% down, and then pay for the cabinets when they arrive, which is also 50% so you pay them the whole amount even before they do any work). But the granite was delayed simply because Ray didn't have the money to pay them. So he had used MY money for something ELSE.
A single corner cabinet was needed to complete cabinet install and Kitchen Options had measured wrong and ordered a cabinet that didn't fit. A new cabinet was never ordered and in fact after MUCH complaining for over 2 months, they decided to just cut down the cabinet that didn't fit. A BRAND NEW CABINET WAS CUT DOWN TO FIT! I ended up buying the correct cabinet myself and suing for the amount.
Ray flat out lied to me on many occasions:
1) He told me the new corner cabinet was on order and would be here on the next truck. Always on the NEXT truck. But the cabinet was never even ordered.
2) Many times he told me he would try to have someone come to work and it never happened.in July, I didn't have someone working in the house for weeks at a time.
3) I asked Ray if I needed permits for any of the work being done. He of course said no. But for the added electrical and plumbing hook-ups, permits definitely need filed. I almost got in trouble since the county plumbing inspector lived next door.
4) The best was he hired a sub-contractor who had to stop work after 2 days since he was recalled by the FBI (that is what he said, honestly). Well we saw this guy at a turnpike rest stop driving a van with is company's name on it (triangle or something) a couple weeks later.
I threatened legal action many times and finally decided after 4 months that it was too much. Every time I walk through my brand new kitchen (which is still being worked on by myself and a personal friend) I get disgusted because I constantly have to deal with things that Kitchen Options screwed up. It has nearly been a year and I'm still working on the kitchen because it is that bad.
Please choose another company for your kitchen, it is not worth your hassle with Kitchen Options and Ray Bochek, I don't care what kind of promises he makes.
