My touchsmart desktop, vista, crashed. After several days on the phone with teck support I was told I had to take it back to factory defaults. I lost 5 years of pictures. The computer is over 2 years old. Last year I purchased and extended warranty. I was told last week that I had no warranty. I purchases a one year so I could get it fixed but continued to fight for the extended one I purchased. I received recovery discs for 20.00 and tried to install them. I got an error that my hard drive was bad. Back to teck support. Tried to get me to take out the hard drive. Refused. Got a laptop because I needed a computer. Called teck support with a problen and the teck found my warranty. Called on the touchsmart and they escallated the problem to a supervisor. Cancelled the one year I just purchased. Got a call today from HP rep telling me that my w year ran out. It appears that when you purchase an extended warranty it goes back to the day you purchased the computer. Time ran out because the computer is over 2 years old.
