Purchased 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan new 04/00. Factory warranty at time was 3 yrs/30,000. Performed fairly well. Now with less that 49,000 miles am being told the CAM needs replaced, major expenditures. (3) estimates @ $1500. Range. Could be more expensive, can't tell until they get it apart.
We have performed all required & routine maint. Van just died. No indicator lights, no noises, no nothing.
I hand wrote Dodge (3) letters requesting information assistance. No Response. Finally found an email. I simply requested information as to why this would happen. After several emails I have been told the following: "Out of Warranty - Not Our Problem".
" Afterall van is a MACHINE & machines break without cause"."There is no technical, mechanical or engineering support to answer any of my questions".
"Now Chrysler will open a file but they will no longer be corresponding with me because they will do nothing".
The emails go on.
I have been nothing but polite, but also to the point. I initially wanted information, now I am angry. Anyone have this problem? Any insight?
Thanks
