In june i purchased a 2001 chevy malibu. My first payment was due august 7th.
In july i mailed them a cashiers check for the first 6 months installments.
I was advised by one of their customer service reps to include a note indicating i wanted the payments applied to payment and principal, which i did.
That payment was for august thru jan. On jan 17 i wake to find two repo guys attempting to take my vehicle.
Of course i was unable to reach anyone in the office until 10am central time.
From the start each rep i talked to had the nastiest attitude.
I was finally advised that they do not accept lump sum payments.
They accept two months payment and the rest was applied to interest. Making me 3 months behind.
They said the have a memo stating i was "told" of this policy.
My next? Was if i was told that why would i send 6 monthly payments?
At the time i came into a large sum of money and was on the so-called road to credit recovery.
I would have purchased 3 seperate cashiers checks and made payments ever two months.
Now i dont know what to do.
I will not surrender possession of my vehicle until i have my day in court.
Am i fighting a losing battle.
Let me know
