Is still ripping me off

On December 21 at 12:30PM, I took my car to Just Brakes on Mendenhall Road in Memphis, TN. I asked them to change the brake pads and left the store. I was telephoned several hours later and was told by Ed my car required new rotors, pads, and calipers. I needed my car repaired that day, so I agreed to allow Just Brakes fix the vehicle. Ed told me the car would be ready by closing time, 6:00PM, and he said he would call me upon completion. I telephoned the shop at 5:30 PM to inquire about my car. Ed said it would be ready by closing. I arrived at the store at 5:50 PM and was told by a mechanic that Ed went to get brake pads for my car at the White Station Just Brakes. I was confused because it was closing time and I was told twice the car would be completed by then. The man told me they would call when the car was finished. Ed phoned at 7:30 PM and I immediately went to pick up my car.

When my friend and I arrived at the shop, it was dark outside, the lights were off, and there was a suspicious vehicle parked in front of the store. Our safety was in question.inside the store, Ed and 2 other men (presumably mechanics) were waiting. I paid my bill and questioned Ed about the store's lack of promptness. Ed was unapologetic and insinuated that they were doing me a favor by performing the work at such a late hour. The mechanics also made some comments to that extent. Being in a compromising situation, we left with the car.

I find this behavior unacceptable for obvious reasons. I am concerned that I was overcharged for work that was unnecessary. The car was excessively late being repaired and that put me in a compromising position. The bedraggled employees were disrespectful and offensive. I wish I could end this letter here but there is more to the story.

Very few days after I had the brakes, rotors, and calipers replaced on my car, the brakes started squeaking. I believed they were just getting worn in and continued to drive the vehicle. Then the brakes started making a grinding noise that was worse than they sounded when I took it in. Three weeks after the initial repairs, I decided that I needed to have the car looked at but I did not want to return to the Just Brakes on Mendenhall Road.

I took the car to the Just Brakes on White Station and I explained the problem to the manager. He told me that the brakes Mendenhall put on the car were somehow incorrect. He showed me the rotor and I could see that the surface was marred. He agreed to put new rotors and new brake pads on the vehicle but he needed to go and pick up the correct pads. While he was gone, the mechanics tried to remove the rotors put on at the Mendenhall store but the rotors wouldn't come off. They brought out a large tool and tried to pull the rotor off many times with great force. When the manager returned, the rotor was still on the car and he told them to stop. He explained that they were pulling with such force, he was worried the axel might become damaged and he didn't want to risk it. He told me that he would give me the new brakes and rotors and I should take them back to Mendenhall and see the manager.

I feel I have been overcharged for poor workmanship. I am dissatisfied that I spent another 3 hours trying to have my brakes repaired and I will have to waste more time on this endeavor in the future. I am concerned that Just Brakes will create damage to my axel or wheel trying to remove the rotor that Mendenhall store put on. I am worried that the vehicle is already damaged. I feel an urgency to complete the necessary work because of the safety hazards associated with faulty brakes, which are still on my car.

I am now in a very bad position now. I do not want to return to Just Brakes on Mendenhall because I question their competence and the store on White Station cannot perform the repairs. I am hoping you can provide me with a solution to my dilemma. Thank you for your time and consideration.
