Ok. So, I've had my auto loan with them since 2005. ALways on time. Pay extra online no problem.
This last payment I decided to send them in a larger lump sum to pay the loan off sooner. I sent them a check for a little over $2,000. Of that amount they was to apply 421.86 to my monthly due for my car.
Instead they applied the full amount to prin leaving me still due for August. No problem I thought. I'll just get a hold of them and have it re applied.
I was originaly told that they could not put it to future payments but they would put it to Aug due and the rest to principle which was what I wanted. Now they refuse to put ANY of it to payment making me late for Aug and still due.
I have tried several times to get them to apply 412 to my month due since that was my Aug payment PLUS extra to the principal. They downright refuse to and say it's against their policy.
This is crap. It's my money. I sent them over 2 grand and now they are saying I am late on my Aug due.
I am currently working with the BBB and am considering hiring an attorney. I don't have an additional 421 to send them for Aug due because I had already paid it with the 2,000 check I sent them. Now I have to worry about them screwing up my credit and saying I am late and applying late fee's (Which so far has not happened)... I have worked VERY hard to get my credit back to good standings over the past 2 years and do not want that hard work killed by Amercredit and their shady ways.
If anything they should be happy to apply it to payment since they get the interest off it.
In reality I understand it is actually in my benefit to have more go to principal in the long run. Which is fine. But the problem is. That check included my Aug payment and I don't have another 421 to go to August payment.
Americredit has treated me like crap. Like I am some scum customer and I don't get that either. I was even straight forward called a liar when I asid that I was told there would be no problem splitting the check up so that 421 would go in as payment and the rest to prin...
The customers service reps have been extremelly rude and the last letter I got in resposne to the report from the BBB was that if I do not make Aug payment that was due Aug 6'th they will come repo my car even though it's only late 4 days or so. (it's not late at all actually).
This company is shady... I do not want to be their customer anymore then they want me as a customer apparntly so I will be looking in to a refi with another bank ASAP. But I just wanted to let people who use Americredit to be aware. They will treat you like pure crap.
