I had been looking for a car for a year but with my bad credit I never thought I would get into a car. Then one morning as I was laying in bed late at night a commercial came on telling me that I could put a dollar down and drive a car. So I thought about it for a few days and decided I think I will give this a try, a few days after applying on the website I received a call from Ogden Auto Plaza telling me they wanted to set me up with an appointment to meet with West Valley Auto Plaza. After much hassle setting up an appointment, it was finally the day I had set my appointment for, so me and my wife caught a ride to the dealership with my parents who were going up to the area.
We get to the dealership and we are treated exceptional, with only one thing wrong, nobody at the dealership had a CLUE about the dollar down and drive commercial. So they take our information on an application and all that jazz, and while they are running our horrible credit, they have the NEW salesman sit with us and talk to us about anything just to get us to stay there. After a while they bring back the information and tell us we have an option of 2900 down without a cosigner, or we need a cosigner and we can 0 down and payments of 117 a month. After this me and my wife called around for a cosigner because, even though it wasn't the car we wanted it was a decent car. We finally found someone who might cosign but he didnt get off work until late that evening. Once again the new car salesmen sat and talked to us until he decided it was break time and let us take the car for a few hours. We get the car around the corner from the dealership and it runs out of gas, so we got it filled up and went about our business.
When we arrived later at the dealership we finally get the go ahead from our cosigner and then we were asked if we could put any money down. I told them well I was planning on 0 down but I will put $50 down thats all I have, and then we proceeded to wait 2 or 3 hours for their finance guy "COWBOY". We finally get to see cowboy and get the papers signed, we are told that if our cosigner decides not to sign the papers that we must return the vehicle and pay a $350 restock fee plus mileage.
I then receive a call back from the finance manager telling me that the bank did not approve the loan that I HAD SIGNED FOR in the office, and that the bank they were going through now doesnt want to pay what they are asking for the car so I have to come up with $825 that I simply do not have and cannot come close to unless I use my rent money to pay it.
If you want to get jerked around, by all means go ahead and visit these crooks, I thought it was great, they all treated me nice, even the owner came and shook my hand when I got there, but word of advice DO NOT leave a car dealership with a car that isnt 100% financed.
