GREAT LAKES GM TOYOTA dishonest ripoffs thieves

We recieved a recall notice for head gaskets on our T-100 toyota. We really felt it was unnessary because our toyota ran great. We were advised to have them replaces anyway. We drove our toyota 38 miles to Great Lakes GM-Toyota in Spirit Lake on the 17th for the scheduled head gasket replacement. We also opted to have them put on a new timing belt because when you take a engine down that far it is advisable. We were told our toyota would be done by 5:00p. M on the 18th.

On the 18th we recieved a call at 9:00A.M. That we needed a new water pump ours was junk - We told them just do the work it is scheduled for and no more. At 10:30 A.M. We recieved another call that we needed all new front end parts - they too were junk - We drove it in and had no problems but now there are all these problems. We once again told dave the service man-Dave No only do what our toyota is in for the recall and timing belt. At 4:00P.M. We called Great lakes and asked if the toyota was done Dave said "no it's not done and you need brakes and we can't put your toyotat back together because you need 2 new heads and all new cams" My husband said What??? Dave told him yeah the heads are junk and the cams have deep grooves in them and must be replaced. Your truck will not run with these heads and cams.

Tim, My husband said I don't believe this we drove our truck in and it ran great and now your'e telling me it won't run? Tim was told by Dave, "things like this sometime happen. On the 19th I went over to Great Lakes and got a loaner until we could straighten this mess out. I looked at the heads and cams and told Dave they were not our heads or cam because these looked like they had been through a fire and it looks like someone took a screwdriver to these cams. Plus we use Mobile 1 oil in all our vehicles and this is Not mobile 1 oil in these heads or on these cams.

Dave told me he did not take a srewdriver to out cams or heads and I must be mistaken aout what kind of oil it was. Plus he looked up the history and there wasn't any history on our toyota so since there was no stamp markes on the heads we can't prove or not prove they are our toyota. I went home with the loaner they lent me and talked to my husband and showed him digital pictures of the heads and the cams they claimed were ours he seen the pictures and he said these aren't our heads and cams— WE use mobile 1 oil. That is penzoil - or a off brand that is gummy. I called them the next day after I spoke to Anika at Toyota Customer Service Main office and filed acomplaint - They told me they would file my complaint but great lakesgm-toyota is an independantly owned company and they can't do anything about what the company does. I told them to put the truck back together withour parts and don't put on the New timing belt.

My husband called them on the 21st and our truck was back together But it was advised that we not drive it because it will throw a piston. We got a friend to bring his trailer and we put my toyota on the trailer to bring home. When we got it home We looked at the engine and found that they had taken off our Bosch starter and replaced it with a used Toyota starter and the throttle linkage cable cover was missing. The heads aren't ours because they are pitted and look like they were in a fire. We started the truck and it knocked so bad and we had no oil pressure. We quickly shut it off. My complaint is we had an excellent running vehicle when we took it in and a piece of junk that doesn't run in return.

I once again called Toyota customer service to let them know we got the truck home after a week of Great lakes having it and they informed me they had paid Great lakes for the recall work they did. So I asked who's gonna pay for my toyota to be put back to the way it was when it went in —Customer service said we needed to talk to Great lakes it wasn't their problem. What a rip off a - very costly rip off We are making monthly payments now on a truck that is going to cost atleast 3500. To fix.
