Antioch Toyota Let me down...
My 1994 Toyota 4Runner's engine blew up in 1996. Toyota replaced the engine uner the warranty. At the time I was fairly happy with Toyota. I requested that they pay for the rental vehicle, but that was denied. Still I was glad that they were honoring the warranty.
Recently, January the thermostat started going very high at iregular intervals. I took the truck to my local mechanic. He told me that there was a leak in the head gasket. I found that hard to believe since the engine had been replaced. I thought that head gaskets generally do not go bad with regular maintance.
When I contacted Antioch Toyota the service person told me that my truck had already been "updated" so I was not eligible for the head gasket to be replaced at their expense. Later I contacted customer assistance and was told that my VIN was not part of the "recall". I would guess that this is because my truck had been "updated". Here I am stuck with a truck that has little or no value. I am absolutely disgusted.
I had bought a Toyota for their reliability, and now I have a junker. I will never buy another Toyota product, and I will actively tell everyone I know to do the same.
We need to stand up against Toyota, and tell them that we are not happy. The power of all of us will make more of a difference when we stand together.
