The entire frame on my 2000 Toyota Tundra has rusted out. The truck has failed inspection and after being evaluated by Grappone Toyota, it was deemed dangerous to drive. Repeated calls to Gappone as well as Toyota headquarters did not resolve the problem. Toyota Tacoma trucks were recalled for the same reason, but not Tundras. I was told to have the problem fixed and pay for it myself. We did try.
Replacement parts were over $500. Hours of labor were required. The truck body was practically rebuilt. It still did not pass inspection because the front part of the truck was also dangerously rusted. The mechanic's opinion, "It's junk!" I was told that Toyota could not help. This was an expensive truck that I had hoped would last a long time...
