RAV4 Transmission Problems!

I purchased a new 2001 RAV4 SUV. From Bert Wolfe Toyota located in Charleston, WV. The first time that I drove my RAV4 to work which is about forty miles the drive belt broke. I was stranded in the middle of nowhere and I called the Toyota Dealer where I purchased my RAV4. I spoke with the Service Manager and he was smart mouthing me about calling because the drive belt had broken. The dealership did not honor the warranty and I had to pay for a wrecker truck and for the installation of a new drive belt.

My RAV4 has only about 35,900 miles on it. I had purchased the RAV4 for my wife but my wife has refused to drive the RAV4 because another drive belt broke while she was driving it and she could not steer and almost hit another vehicle. Also, I have had to replace all four of the oxygen sensors on my RAV4 SUV because the red engine check light comes on and the technician at the garage says that the oxygen sensors need to be replaced. I have had to pay for this out of my own pocket. Now I am having a problem with the transmission. The transmission is making noises, grinding and is slow to shift.

I had read recently that Toyota has stated that there is a problem with RAV4 Suv's for the years 2001 through 2003. I have not been notified from Toyota about any transmission problems. I have lost all trust, respect and loyalty that I ever had for Toyota. They sold me a lemon and have never paid me for any kind of repair that I have had to have done. If Toyota was such a great company then a customer would not have to write complaints about their products. Toyota would notify the customer about about any problem and defects and volunteer to fix the problems for the customer so that the customer would stay loyal. I will not recommend anyone to purchase a Toyota vehicle, because Toyota will not stand behind any defects.
