Be Aware! If They Are Offering Even The Smallest Of Incentives, You May Not Se Be aware! If they are offering even the smallest of incentives, you may not see them on the final contract

The incentive offered that day was $400 dollars of the price of the vehicle or a free Ipod (about 400 for the ipod at the time). Now, I had purchased the vehicle in next two days. I showed up the first day about 1:30pm and talked with sales person. I told him that I didn't want the Ipod and would like the $400 off the vehicle. He said, O.K. Lets go run some numbers together and see what we can do. The price on the HAND WRITEN ESTIMATE was reasonable. I agreed. The next day I showed up again at about 1:30pm. He told me that they are detailing the car. They wanted it to look as nice as possible before I dive off the lot. This took about 4 hours. (I'm not the type person to cause a scene or bring attention to my self so I simply feel for the trap). I'm certain they were trying to wear me out. When it finally came to doing the paper work, I was so tiered and ready to go home, I found myself signing away (my fault). They offered things I didn't need that cost extra. But the part that's really messed up - they NEVER TOOK THE $400 OF THE SALE PRICE OF THE VEICHALE! I called them and the sales person said Yes we did, you just can't see it on the paper work. My reaction was - what? All the sudden I was blind and couldn't do math. I told him I was going to come in so he could show me. He showed me that the $400 was taken of the price of the vehicle. He pointed at the paper work and said see, it's right there $400 off I looked at the paperwork and he was right. It was on the paperwork. Hand written on the HAND WRITEN ESTIMATE! The dude was trying to trick me into think that the hand written estimate was the same dame thing as the PRINTED and signed contract that I held in my hand. I slapped it down on his desk and said great! Now show me where it is on this one oviously he couldn't. Then he said, Look what if we just give you the ipod instead? At that point, nothing was OK. I was so frustrated and tired of the dame people at Therobred Chevrolet that I just gave up and said fine. Then he pointed at the sales person who sold me the car and said, I'll give you the Ipod but it's coming out of his pocket! Why the hell would I care who's pocket it comes out of? A respectable (I thought) dealership just tried to screw an honest, hard working American out of $400. Watch out for this kind of un-American BS. Makes me sick
