AFN, Auto Financing Network Wrong Registration Information

I purchased a motor vehicle from AFN in October. I chose this dealership because of their stated policy of treating the customer right, and it's guarantee for approval.

After purchasing this vehicle I was then told I had a 30 day temporary license plate and would be contacted when the permenant plates arrived, and the salesman placed the temporary plate on the vehicle. A few days later I was surprisingly pulled over and was told it was for vehicle registration expiration. The salesman/company only issued a 3-day temporary license plate. I was ticketed and allowed to leave with the car.

I immediatley contacted Michael at AFN to inform them of this and was met only with open hostility. I was transferred from person to person without really being given a resolution. Then, several days later after leaving numerous messages I received a phone call from AFN. However, they were calling to get my employment information only, apparently it hadn't been transferred on to the paperwork, and yet again, after this phone call the registration situation remained unsolved.

Nearly a month and a half passes (still no valid registration in my possession) and I received a phone call stating that the license plates were in but that I needed to pay the last of the deferred down payment (200/300 dollars) in order to recieve them. When asked about what was going to happen regarding their mistake with the license plates, again, I don't get an answer.

Instead I get open hostility, rudeness, and inconsideration. When I informed them that I thought it wasn't right for me to have to pay anything further on the down payment since I didn't know what I would have to pay in court for THEIR mistake, AND, since I was already making the car payments on a car I have been unable to drive I was threatend with repossession, and was told that I had better not keep any of my personal possessions in the car. When I told them I had contacted the dmv and was informed by their inspectors that it wasn't legal for them to hold the plates in this manner and had been informed to go down to the dmv and file a title registration complaint if they weren't given to me, I was still only treated unfairly, rudely, and threatened.
