I purchased a 1998 BMW 528i, on 5/30/05 at their dealership in Tinley Park, Illinois. Everything was good at this time except I had to wait to get my car washed for 3 hours. But this is nothing, because today's date is 02/06/06 (8 months later), and I still don't have my license plate.
After my first temporary license plate expired, and over 20 calls I was able to speak to someone from "title and registration" department. They said that they will send me another temporary license plate. They never did, after another several calls I found out that they just forgot.
After my second temporary license plate expired I decided that I have to talk to someone with higher rank. I have spoken to a sales manager, and I found out that he doesn't care about my problem too. All I was able to do is have them send me another temporary license plate. Good thing is that they didn't forget to send it this time.
After my third temporary license plate expired I decided to do research on my own. I called Secretary of State, and asked if they have any paperwork or title for my car. They never recived anything regarding my car, and it was November. I called Luxury Motors, they told me that they don't have my title, but they should have it soon, and by end of the year my car will be registered.
Now I have my fourth temporary license plate which is going to expire shortly. Three weeks ago they told me that I should have my license plate next week, which was one week ago, and as soon as they have it they will call me.
In two weeks I have to go to Florida for 6 months and I wonder if I will have to register my car in Florida how I will do it without the title, or if they will pay tickets for unregistered vehicle.
