Purchased transmission from above company and had it installed by a professional mechanic. When installed and tested there was a crack found in the transmission and it was leaking transmission fluid. My mechanic stated to me it had been painted over and later informed me it also had metal shavings in it. Anyway, called the company and sent pic. Offered mechanic's written statement and the owner didn't want that. Did send pic as requested and then never spoke with owner again. Why wouldn't an Owner of a company want to see the mechanic's report on one his products?
Later, spoke with a Gabriel who infomed me that they had a fix for this and maybe my mechanic broke the transmission. I informed him my mechanic was a professional and skilled mechanic who had also installed an engine for us without problems and should not be blamed for this. He also works as a mechanic during the day.
I never did get to speak with the owner again. I am furious and it sounded like this type of thing happens quite a bit. I did refuse the fix as the transmission had already been removed from my jeep and do not feel that fixing a "fix" is the proper way, especially for a crack or significant defect. It shouldn't have a crack present in the first place! Im not a mechanic but a nurse and commom sense tells me that this isn't right!
I am interested in getting a class-action lawsuit together on this. Does anyone know how I can email a fellow member from this site? He also wanted to initiate a class action against this company. I am waiting to hear back from a lawyer in Arizona on this matter.
They informed me that shipping would not be refunded and I don't think this is right. I'll keep you all informed on how this goes. I requested at least a statement authorizing the return and refund upon receipt in which I have not yet rec'd.
In addition, they failed to initially send me my torque converter that is suppose to come with the transmission. Because of this, there has been a futher delay as my jeep rests in limbo here in Illinois and I can't afford to order a new transmission until I have my full refund on this one!
