We signed on with DriveTime as we had horrible credit and needed a car. The car is fine and mainly they were okay to work with. Their record keeping is horrible and people seem to stay confused but nothing that could not be worked out fairly quickly. Also their home office does not work well with the dealerships.
The problem was when we called to make sure of our final payoff. We were then told that we owed the monthly payment plus a little over $2,000 in extra interest. I tried to find out where it came from but no one could give me an honest answer. I was told that I could make 2 payments but that it must be paid by the end of the month or they would repossess the car.
Remember we have paid every monthly payment for the life of the note but if we dont make this "extra payment" we will lose our car!
Watch out for these guys. There are plenty of other dealerships around the area that will get you a car if you need one without dealing with these guys. Very bad decision!!
