I purchased a vehicle at Drivetime 11... The worst mistake of my life! Seriously! They call before the payment is due and harass you. They call when a holiday is coming up to remind you to make your payment so you dont forget. Granted, i have not had any problems with my car, but the finance department is horrible!
I was paying a car payment every 2 weeks, i changed jobs, they said i needed to "refinance" in order to get the dates the payment was due changed, since i did not want to be late on my payments, as i am attempting to rebuild my credit. Well, they added $1500.00 to my note in finance charges! So the money that i had already paid to them before refinancing was basically going in their pocket... I have been over and over an issue i have regarding when the refinance was done, a $210.00 payment was not applied to my balance. I have the print out from the corporate office showing it wasnt applied and they still contest that it was.
My latest issue is that instead of paying every 2 weeks, i have rebudgeted my finances to pay my car payment once a month (payment paid in full) and i received a call today telling me that my account is in very bad standing, one week late per the rep, (although my credit report shows consistent payments on time for the past 3 years) and that i needed to get my account up to date. I explained that my account is in good standing and i have been making my payment every month, but, since i have not been paying every 2 weeks, they are stating it is still considered late and they are going to start reporting this to the credit bureaus even though my payment is not technically late. It was my understanding that unless your payment is over 30 days late, they cant report it negatively on your credit. Well the rude representative for Drivetime told me otherwise and that if i dont start paying every 2 weeks again, they are going to report it as late on my credit file even though i have been making consistent on time payments and have brought my note balance down from $19,000.00 (for an 03 sunfire) to $4,000.00 and I had also received a call from someone else stating that I can go and trade in my current car due to all of my ontime payments to a newer vehicle just a week ago. I hate this company and I hate all the ignorant calls. Please DO NOT purchase a car from these idiot pirates.
