I have had experience with both Ugly Duckling and Drivetime over many years. I did not know that Drivetime was Ugly Duckling or I would never have purchased from them. They are so corrupt, rude, harrassing, I just can't explain. I purchased my car in 07 I had 37 months to pay on the car. I must admit my car has been in great shape, no real problems with it all this time. My problem is with DT Corp. My maturity date is 10/20/05 but because of some late payments due to illness, unemployment, etc over the last 37 months I still owe them almost $2,000. They say it is interest and principal owed. I had an audit done and the amount showing that I have paid on the car is $15,650 or so and I owed $15,300 or so. As far as I am concerned. I am paid in full. According to DT Corp I have only paid $9,900 or so on the principal and must pay the balance which is almost $2,000 due to a late payment fee in the amount of $250. I had no idea everyday that you do not make the payment on the specific day due, it accures interest daily at 28% plus. I am furious. I am so tired of dealing with them. I want my title and be done with them. I don't know what to do. Do I continue to make payments till I finally get the principal they say I owe is finally paid and then pay the late fees that will accumulate? I may be paying on this car forever. Is there anything I can do about this? Help needed in North Florida. Please add me to your class action lawsuit.
