Never take your vehicle to this place! You would think that seeing a national company name like Cottmans would give you peace of mind about having the work done right and a warranty to back it up when you have to have major auto repairs done. Unfortunately, in this case, Cottmans will be nothing but lost time, money and aggravation.
I took my Jeep to them with the complaint that it was not shifting when I first started it up. The old manager, Brent, said I needed a torque converter and a transmission cooler. Price tag=$2200.00. Like many people, I require my vehicle for work and have little time to get a second opinion and agree to have them do the work. My vehicle still has the same problem. The tranny cooler has been dripping since the first day they put it in.
I have made SO many trips back to this place. It's been nothing but run around. They always say they will fix it right and do nothing. They say they can find nothing wrong with it, yet when I took it to — and they gave me a free diagnostic of my computer, all transmission codes showed up.
I tell this to the new manager at Cotttman's, J.T., and he says he was reading his diagnostic machine wrong. I again had to twice bring it back for the whole day and it's not fixed. J.T. Has run out of excuses and is therefore resorting to being an unreasonable *&*&.
I have taken it to &, where I SHOULD HAVE taken it to begin with, and they freely diagnose it's the torque converter and solenoids. Now I will have to pay them to do it right and take Cottman's to small claims division. Please save yourselves this aggravation and NEVER TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO COTTMAN'S.
