In January Cottman Transmission in Hightstown, NJ rebuilt my transmission. It shifted abruptly from the time I got the car back, it was explained away as a break in period. Shortly, afterward the check engine light came on, so I took the car back again only to find the mechanic had left in the dead of night.
So I called Corporate HQ and got Carol Iancola (sp) she instructed me to take it to another Cottman. I then took it the Cottman on South Broad St in Trenton, they told me they didn't do warranty work for other Cottmans. So I called Ms. Iancola back, she said she would look into it and call me back, after several more attempts to call her with NO return calls I took my car to Pep Boys apparently the check engine light was due to the EGR valve, so I figure maybe I was wrong about the transmission.
The transmission died yesterday and is now leaking like a sieve and can't move the car. Spoke to one customer service rep and she told me I need to take it to another Cottman, why so they can tell me they don't cover warrenty work from other Cottmans, oh and how do I get it there? Have it towed from one Cottman to another Cottman til I find one that does?
I feel if Ms. Iancola had done her job correctly in the first place this would have been avoided. And since it wasn't I feel Cottman should cover the towing and a rental vehicle til the repairs are completed.
Since Cottman and Aamco have merged could a Aamco do the repair?
