I wish I had found this site earlier. Shannon at Ducktown Dodge really ripped me off he promised first a low down payment and low monthly payment on a reliable ride which is what I was looking for. I had said I could pay 500 or 1000 down and 300 - 400 a month and he promised he could find just the thing for me.
However when I arrived he stated due to my trade in not being paid off and being worth supposedly so little I would have to agree on a vehicle that a bank would loan enough to cover the amount owed for both cars and had me sign a form agreeing to that. Then after showing me the price and promising all along what we had agreed to on the phone was the deal we were working on came back and said I'd have to pay 2000.00 down and 585 a month because of a credit rebuilding program he had there.
I told him with the payment being so high I couldn't pay 2000.00 unless they could hold the check until I had been paid and he agreeded, I kept telling him that we had not agreeded on this much for a down payment or monthly payment and he kept saying we could afford it and it would really build our credit up. When I asked about something else to look at he said I had agreeded to buy the car he brought out and how the loan company wouldn't loan on a cheaper car and when I asked about keeping my other car since I had to pay so much anyway he said the loan wouldn't go through with out it???
I had a 500.00 off coupon from the internet and gave it to him and he said oh it's been taken off and it wasn't another lie that until I talked in the back and asked didn't know he hadn't deducted and the guy in the back said maybe he had taken it off and it just wasn't written down on the finance papers. On top of everything else he'd talk to my husband and try to get him to go along and I was there for hours and hours and finally just signed and wanted to get out of there. However he didn't hold the 2000.00 check nope he sent it right through and it cleared but my others didn't.
However like my friends all say now should have had it in writting. First time carbuyers beware take along someone with experience or be prepared to be lied too and coaxed into signing anything I didn't know I could leave after signing the first form I was under the impression I had to do this deal or none and I really needed a car but would have liked to have what I asked for and not have been conned into an expensive costly vehicle. I feel like I have been really taken on a ride I am really disappointed.
