I just recently purchased a 1999 Chevy Silverado from Viking Dodge. The window price was $14,995.00 (as the internet price as well). I had agreed to purchase the truck that day and was told that they would sell it to me for $13,995.00.
My credit isn't the greatest so my mom co signed for me and I was told that I was a co borrower and that by her cosigning my credit will only get better. I had explained to them that there were several things on the truck that needed to be fixed and was told with my extended warranty that they would honor all of that stuff, serpintine belt, u-joint, electrical issues.
After leaving viking dodge on a saturday afternoon, I went home and was reading my paperwork. The list price was written up as $15,995.00 NOT $13,995.00!!! It was too late to go back in that evening so I waited until monday and I went back in with my mom and the guy who did the write up was not there.
So the finance manager helped me. I asked him what was up? And he said he didn't write it up so he couldn't do anything... I told him there has to be someone there that can do something and he said there wasn't.
So I told him I was leaving the truck here because that is not the price we had agreed on. He said I could't do that. I told him there has to be a return policy. He told me there was not. I said I don't want the truck and I am leaving it here. He then said this is not walmart, you can't just return the truck. What a Joke!!!
So I called later that eve to talk to the guy who wrote up the truck and he never answered his calls. I called for several days and still no answer. I stopped payment on my down payment check and then they called me back to see what was going on. GO FIGURE!
So my mom and I went into viking dodge and asked about the $2000.00 dollar price difference and he said that that was the finance charge that they wrote in. They added that to the price of the truck so I wouldn't have to pay that out of my pocket. I said there is no finance charge and that is just b.S.
I asked for the name of the bank they would not give it to me. They wanted there down payment or they were going to repo the truck. So since my mom cosigned I gave them the down payment in cash and told them I would see them in court!
I just receieved the payment book from CHASE for the truck and went to the bank to talk to them and have now found out that I am not even on the loan! That I am driving a truck that is 100% in my moms name so my credit rating will not even reflect the payments I will be making.
Viking dodge is a rip off!!! Don't trust anyone there named bill or richard!!! I am out the $2000.00 which i have black and white documents to proove there fraud and deceptive practices. They also told us that i was on the loan and that although my mom was the primary borrower that i was a co borrower and my credit would get better.
If anyone has been ripped off like I have been by Viking Dodge please contact me because I plan on filling a class action lawsuit against them for there practices! The other option I have is small claims and I may do that by filing pro se. I am going to start picketing there facility shortly as well. This is an absolute blatant deceptive practice for which they have been held accountable of before. Stay away from viking dodge!!!
