RIP OFF Corrossion Warranty Not Honored on $45K Vehicle

Im the proud owner of a 2003 Rusting Ford Explorer Limited. Ford's body shop and an independent body shop both concur my hood was improperly dipped at the factory. No rust corrosion preventive made it into a seam and the hood is rusting out from the inside out.

Ford is refusing to repair my vehicle under the 5 year unlimited mileage corrosion warranty stating the hole is not perforated. They admit the hole will be perforated within 1 year and they will eventually have to fix it at thier expense. If we would allow their body shop to grind off the paint bubble they believe they will find a perforated hole.

The problem with that is if there isn't a "perforated" hole we have to drive around with a ground down rust spot on her hood until it does perforate. Thats customer service at its best!

They offered a "good will" adjustment where we pay 1/3 of the repair. Thats offer was rejected and we hope to move to arbitration soon.

The inherent problem here is their lack of customer service as a loyal Ford customer this situation leaves a severe impression on my future purchasing decisions.

A Ford "field service rep" named Wendy has never even so much as contacted me or scheduled a time to look at my vehicle. I was contacted by the dealership handling this and rescheduled an entire day to be able to drop everything and meet "Wendy" at their dealership. Wendy stood me up and ignored the dealership on her last trip to town. I can't say enough about Marcus Allen's Broadway Ford in Kansas City Missouri they have gone above and beyond to resolve this matter.

The selling dearlership Bill Woods Ford doesn't have a clue and even lead me to believe my vehicle was a Certified Pre Owned vehicle. They now admit to performing a 151 point inspection but never certifying the vehicle. Which leads me to believe it wouldn't certify because the hood was showing signs of rusting out when I purchased it in June as a "Ford Fleet Turn In".

I have owned Ford vehicles since I started buying my own cars, in just the last 6 years I have purchased a Probe, A Mustang, 2 Rangers and now the rusting Explorer. To bad Ford doesn't have any loyalty to me.

Its very alarming that Ford is basically saying that a 2 year old vehicle is supposed to be rusting and since it is not perforated its okay to them. The vehicle does have 41,000 miles on it but is under the Easy Care Gold plan until 75,000 miles and is covered for unlimited mileage or 5 years under the corrosion warranty. My Explorer was manufactured at the St. Louis Missouri Plant.

Something else I will never purchase again, their crappy extended warranty. Easy Money is what they should call that because its Easy Money for them and absolutely not Easy Care for you.
