1993 Ford Explorer XLT with peeling paint on hood, roof, and fenders. Caused by known factory defective e-coating priming process step skipped, which lets the clearcoat basecoat peel away.
The selling dealership; North Central Ford, repainted the roof of the vehicle in March, 1999, three years after the factory warranty expired. They failed to repaint the entire truck, which now has peeling paint on other horizontal surfaces as well.
Attempts to get the local Ford dealership (SW Florida) and Ford Zone representative so far have been ignored. So has repeated letter-writing and phone calls to the 1-800-Ford Customer Service hotline.
