Complaint / Review
Bob Howard Nissan
Dishonest, scam artists, liars Ripoff

In March I purchased a new Nissan Titan at Bob Howard Nissan in Edmond, Oklahoma. The initial experience was very good and the salesman was very helpful. I got a truck and terms I was very happy with (or so I thought).

Three days later I received a call from the finance manager saying that I had to resign the paperwork due to the interest rate went from 9.88% to 10.74% at 72 months. I did not like this change, but was told that I had to use Nissan financing. I resigned the paperwork.

Then, almost 1 month later, I got another call from the finance manager saying that they made a mistake and payed off the wrong vehicle. I had 2 vehicles (both purchased at Bob Howard Nissan), both financed at a local bank. One a 2000 Dodge Durango, and a 2002 Dodge Ram pickup (which I used as a trade in). I was told they payed off the Durango instead of the Ram, which was a 5300.00 difference.

I was told that I could pay the difference or once again, resign new paperwork and add the difference to the loan (which I reluctantly did). I asked if they could just give me back the 2002 Dodge Ram and take the Durango since it was the one payed off. I was told they just sold it the day before. On the 15th of April, I was going to make a payment due on the Durango but was told not to by the finance manager due to it was payed off and they were trying to figure out what to do with this mistake.

A few days later, I received a call from the local bank saying that my 2002 Dodge Ram payment was 29 days past due and I had to make a payment that day or it would be reported late on my credit. This is the truck that originally should have been paid off on 3/21/05. I made the payment of 536.74. I still do not understand why I had to do this since it was already sold by Bob Howard Nissan and another person was driving it. How can they sell a pickup that they did not payoff and let someone drive it off the lot still in my name? To make matters worse, the bank advised me that the 2000 Dodge Durango payoff had been reversed off and that the payment was due on it also!

My insurance agent advised me that it is illegal for Bob Howard to sell the 2002 Dodge Ram with there still being a lien on it. He also told me that if something happened as a result of the new owner of the Ram causing it, that I can be held liable since the truck is still in my name. As of April 25, the 2002 Dodge Ram is not payed off and has accrued 93.10 in interest since I traded it in on March 21st. I have lost approximately 15 hours of my time to date. I have been put at risk from the liability of someone else driving a truck still in my name. My credit rating has been put at risk, as well as my health and work are suffering due to the stress caused by this matter.

On April 29th, my Dodge Ram finally was paid off. While I did receive 574.00 back from an "overpayment", I am still out the time and stress related to this incident. On a final note, I went to get the tag and had to pay a 95.00 penalty. They sent the title w / the notary date from the time I signed the contract in March, so it showed that my tag was late!!! When I called BH, they said they were "through with me"!!!

I now regret buying the Nissan Titan at Bob Howard. I will not shop there again nor refer anyone. This mistake has been very costly to me and my family. Do not EVER go to a Bob Howard dealership or anyone affiliated w / them!!!
