Complaint / Review
Citifinancial - Associates
Ripoff

In 1995, I incurred an on the job injury and filed Chapter 13 bankruptcy. I was just re-establishing my credit and it was at least 625, after 1.5 years on my job.

I received a home equity loan from Ford Motor Credit and then they sold it to Associates Home Equity / Citifinancial Mortgage. It has never been late and in 1999, I incurred a Brain Injury.

My payments, of course, were not late and the bankruptcy paid the loan in full to Citifinancial but they continued to pursue me on a monthly basis about my payments even though I was in a bankruptcy. Being injured as I was and being responsible, I paid them as they billed me. They were receiving payments from me and the bankruptcy Federal Court.

After finishing rehab and talking with many attorney about my affairs, we happened to notice the grossly overpayment of my loan, I recalled to them through my checks the situation with this terrible company.
I later read that the Federal Reserve brought a multi-million dollar lawsuit against them for consumer fraud and predatory lending practices.

As we have written letters to the Vice President and the Federal Reserve Attorney, no one seems to know where the money for reimbursement is or who it went to.
Citifinancial is lying, from the top down, harassing their workers not to deal efficiently with customers.
I have seen many complaints from all over the State of Michigan and I for one think we need to file a class-action suit against them. It seems to be the only way to deal with these people, who seem to be intent on STEALING, LYING AND CHEATING the American consumer.
