This nightmare began when I overpaid First North American National Bank $600.00 on July 26 I requested the refund check through their automated system on August 2. I also changed my address through their customer service department, that same day.

I called two weeks later to find out the status of the check. I was informed at that time that the check had been RETURNED to First North American National Bank because it was sent to the incorrect address. I corrected my address again with Sonya the customer service representative. She said a hold was placed on the check because it had been returned. Sonya indicated at that time that she could not release the hold. She transferred me to another department that could release the hold. I spoke with a representative in that department and they verified my new address and said I should receive the check within TWO weeks.

I wait another two weeks, and still no check. I make another phone call with week of August 23. I spoke with a customer representative, and indicated that I had not received my refund check. The customer representative said the reason I had not received my check is because the check was sent to the wrong address and returned. She asked me to verify my address, and I gave her my current address, which is the address that was on file. She went on to say that I should receive the check in a couple weeks.

I waited another two weeks, and called again. Now we are in the month of September. I spoke with a customer service rep Sonya, who I had talked to on at least two other occasions. She said the check had not been sent because their was a hold on the check. The check had been sent to the wrong address. Again, the same story. It was at this point, I had enough of the run around. I asked to speak with a supervisor. Ms. Johnson then takes the call. I explained to Ms. Johnson my frustration. She said she understood, and could not explain why the check had not been sent out. She assured me she would investigate the problem and respond to me within 24hours. I said to her if I don't hear from you, is it o.K. For me to contact her. She gave me her number and an extension.

I did not hear back from Ms. Johnson, so I then called back. I got Sonya on the phone again. I asked to speak to Ms. Johnson. No Ms. Johnson. I did get another supervisor whose name was Yvonne. I explained to Yvonne AGAIN my story. Yvonne, totally twisted the information! She said there was no department that I spoke to to release the check. She said no one transferred me to a department, because they don't do that! She also said, no one told me they would get back to me within a specific time frame! I could not believe what I was hearing! I kept accurtate account of the conversations I had each time I called. Now she was saying that half of the facts I documented did not happen, and that repeated calls to the customer service department would only prolong the process, and she nor any one else in the department could tell me when I could receive my refund. Not to mention Yvonne was very rude!!!

It is now TWO weeks later and still no progress. I called Banc One, which is now owned by Chase Manhatten. I spoke with the executive offices. It has been almost 3 months and no one can tell me where my money is.
