I went through a divorce, and had to file Chapter 13 Bankruptcy in 2001. I had some urgent home repairs (replaced septic system) and got behind in my mortgage payments. I was making my payments to my Trustee every month along with double mortgage payments between the time frame of November through April. I mortgage was released from the bankruptcy.
Immediately, Citifinancial started forclosure proceeding against me.in May I contacted Citifinancial to see what the problem was and I was informed that I owed them 14 months worth of mortgage payments. I informed Citifinancial that they were wrong and please check their records. Citifinancial could not find funds that the Tustee was sending them and could not account for the payments I made. I had to have my Trustee send them copies of the checks and I had to send them copies of my checks, front and back, so they could see where they deposited the funds. I asked about sending in my payments and was informed that Citifinancial would not accept any funds until my account was straightened out.
While working with them to straighten out my account, they tried for foreclose again! When I called to find out what was going on, I was informed that the attorneys were proceeding with Citifinancial's consent. This foreclosure would be stopped.
In August my records were sent from lost mitigation to their reseach department. Since that time I have not been able to get any input and now I'm still stressed about them forclosing on me. This has been going on for approximately 18 months with no end in sight.
I can't even refinance. I just want to just pay them off to get away from them but they won't cooperate. I have enought equality in my home, which I've lived in for 25 years, to pay off the mortgage and bankruptcy and have a new start. How can I get this accomplished when Citifinancial won't work with me or any other mortgage company.
