I had an active NextCard account, bills paid on time, always higher than minimu payments. I was notified that the bank had folded, and no one had bought my account. Next thing I know I get a bill for late charges and a 22% intrest rate. I tried to contact company was directed to Omaha National Bank. A very nasty lady told me they did not give out information or assist clients.
I was making payments, however they always seem to take forever to post. I was getting harrasing calls at all hours from NCO Financial; Lady threated my about court and taking my home. I asked her for her Id, she told me to go to hell. I hung up. She called again in about 10 minutes. I turned on tape recorder, and started to record. She heard the machine and asked if i was recording i said yes, texas law says i can record any conversation, and that I don't have to notify other party.
I told her that their company was not licensed to do business in Texas, and she cussed me. I told her that now I was calling Texas attorney general and FBI for making thrests to me and my family. Have not had any calls in two months. I don't want to make payments to a company that is not in existance. Is this legal?
