MWI Connections
Ripoff Unauthorized credit cards charges

I reviewed my on-line Chase credit card bill recently and noticed a charge for $179.95 to MWI Connections. I immediately called Chase and requested further information about the charge. The only thing that they could tell me was that it was a company that offered discount merchandise, vacations, etc. I informed them at that time that this was an unauthorized charge and wanted to dispute it.

They told me to call MWI Connections at 888-868-6216 to try to get the situation corrected. When I called MWI, they could not find any account information under my name, so they requested my credit card number so that they could look up my account that way. I refused and asked them for the name of their CEO and mailing address. Neither of the two operators I spoke with (Tishelle #17360 and Donneta #3393) could provide me with the name of their CEO. They did give me the address in Nebraska, however.

I advised the last operator that I was going to contact Chase C.C. And dispute the charges. Surprisingly, when I did call Chase, they told me that MWI Connections is one of the companies they do business with. I told them what had occurred and that this charge was unauthorized and requested that they take it off my bill. After a 10 minute hold they told me that they had checked with MWI and were told by Arnold #10610 that the charge would be taken off my bill within 48 hours.

I further informed Chase that it was unacceptable that they be "doing business" with a crooked company like MWI.

I called MWI back and demanded the name of the CEO again. After a lengthy wait, I was told by one of their "supervisors" (Gloria #4789) that I had to write to Mark Anderson at the Nebraska address I was previously given. She also informed me at that time that the charge had been authorized by the second cardholder on the account (in response to an Informercial). I repeatedly told her that that was impossible since NO ONE in this household orders "as seen on TV" offers (verified by the other cardholder), and besides, who in their right mind would pay $179.95 for a "discount service?"

I intend to write letters to MWI and to Chase telling both companies of my disgust of this alliance of theirs. If Chase is aware of the fraudulent charges that are made by MWI (they would have to be if their customers are repeatedly disputing charges by MWI), why do they continue their alliance?

Shortly, Chase will be losing a customer because of their association with MWI. Perhaps if enough customers refuse to conduct business with Chase because of their relationship with MWI, they will smarten up and sever ties with this crooked "company."
