Collection agency for Citifinancial OR collectors from Hell!
I have several different business names that I work under. I am a Real Estate Broker, a Real Estate Appraiser, and I do income taxes for the public. I have no employees.
Several months ago, a man named Ben started calling my different numbers and asking for my son. When told he was not in the office and he did not work here, the person got very abusive. Last week he called and I decided to ask him why he kept calling. He said he was collecting for monies that my son owed Citifinancial; he gave me detailed information about my son's account. He said that my son owned these business & that I was covering for him. He repeatly threatened to have me and my son arrested. I told him that my son was not working & had no assets.
He calls my home early & late. I cannot block the number. He said that he could do anything that he wanted to, that there was no law to stop him from using an method to collect the money. What good is the privacy law if it does not apply to collection agencies?
Is this company owned by Citicorp as is Citifinancial?
How do I stop this harressment? I know another person that almost had a mental breakdown because of calls from this company.
