Chase Bank
Read your statement to make sure you are not being ripoff

I have been a very loyal customer to Chase Bank since 1990. I have always make payment on time. I have never been late. I pay beyond the miminal amount each month. Often times, I do not have a balance. I don't call to complaint. I will even call when I do not get my statement on time to check on status of its whereabouts. I am almost anal in making sure my bills are not late. I have an excellent credit rating-754. I have a good paying job and is considered high middle class in my income bracket. I am a working professional in a medical setting. Even in this bad economy, my job is not being jeopardize. I have never ask for special consideration from Chase for anything. I considered myself as a very idea customer for Chase. Therefore, I am very upset about the statement I received in month of July. It shows that my payment was late and I was charge a late fee of $39.in the beginning of this year, I made a balance transfer from another bank, this ensure zero interest until end of the year. As result of this supposely late payment, I supposely default the term of my agreement and I was charge a very high APR rate immediately.initially, I was not alarm, I thought I could easily call in the 800 number and fix a very minor problem from the Chase end.instead, I was horrified on how I was talked to on the phone. I felt unimportant and not value by the bank and its employees

The first person who answered the phone was Rashid Jones (7/7/09 at 9:30pm). I explained my situtation and questioned how it is possible my payment was late. I explained I have been a valuable customer. I would appreciate the removal of late fee and change the APR rate back to initial agreement. My request was denied. Not only Mr Jones was not sympathic to me. He said "in this bad economy, every bank is trying to collect money. I can't help you. It is not our fault if the postal service is late". Mr Jones suggested that in the future I should walk into chase bank or use online service. Mr Jones never acknowledged I was a value customer of them or that he could help me in anyways. $39 is not too much to me but it was the principle of things. I believe that Chase purposely delay entering my payment on their systerm by 1 day so they can default me and charge me fees. I believe it is not only illegal but unethical standard of practice. I then request to speak with a supervisor. Mr Jones indicated "my supervisor will tell you the same thing". Supervisor-Michael Davis then came on the phone. I thought he could perhaps be more professional and caring about my business. Mr Davis was worse. I threatened to take my business elsewhere, he said "you can do that". He does not care that I have been a loyal custome and is disputing a very minor issue. Mr Davis told me to make a complain via writing. He indicated they can't waive my fee since I am late and can't revert back to previous transfer agreement. I was not only angry and baffled on their professionalism. They did not care to have customer retention by building rapport with me or in their delivery of service.in this economy, it is all about customer loyalty.

I am sad that I will be closing my bank account. I have transferred all my money to another bank. Obama has help this particular bank with bail out money for the puposely to help keep the bank afloot. My hard earning money is going toward a fraudly practice which should be stopped now.
