Been banking with Washington Mutual for years. Great bank! They recently were bought out by Chase Bank. Got notices from Chase that there would be no changes to credit accounts including any "special rates" originally issued by WAMU. Funny, the month the change over to Chase was supposed to happen... No credit card statement from Chase. I call the old WaMu, now Chase..., where is my statement? I need a copy. Too late, Chase Bank changed and moved the due date back 5 days. Im too late to make payment on time. I asked to have them review my payment record, I have never been late. So sorry Chase Bank says we cant do anything. Magically, I do get the next months bill... No problem. My old rate of 9.99% is now 29.99%. I call, "you've got to be kidding! 20% increase because of one late payment that is the bank's mysterious missing mail problem??? That's loan sharking, highway robbery... So they get tax payer bail out money... And then stick it to the consumer that is bailing them out. Ill never in anyway do business with Chase Bank. I always got the statement from Wash Mutual... I have to question if this was done on purpose. How many others didnt get their Feb/March Statement at all? Bet lots of old WaMu customers got a huge interest rate hike from Chase.
