I bought a new phone on 09/08/2023 from Metro PCS for the sum of $164. Will not give me a receipt once I realize the paper she put in the bag was not my receipt. Had to go back to the store on 09/10/2023 because I could not access my financial institution because the phone number assigned to my new phone was associated with someone that also had an account with the same financial institution. After having to spend all day 09/09/2023 on the phone with my financial institution and the Metro PCS store where I purchased the phone it was finally done. Then right after I get into my bank account the phone starts freezing up to the point I cannot do anything on it. So on 09/10/2023 around 1:30 pm I returned to the store t have the new phone exchanged for one that works. The young lady told me that the phone was free and that the $164 was for the service, not the phone. Now I have been charged $164 for service even though the phone she claims was free they will not honor the Metro 14-day return policy. I don't care if the phone was free I feel they should exchange the device that is not working properly for one of the same or one of equal value. But who pays $164 for any phone service when they can get it for $25 by adding a line to my roommate's plan? This makes absolutely no sense at all. The young lady told me she didn't care what corporate said they didn't listen to corporate because they were an authorized dealer. I thought any Metro was an authorized dealer or they could not legally sell Metro's products. All I wanted was to get a new phone with phone service. Metro PCS was recommended by my roommate, she said they had excellent customer service and really good deals on phones. Well you can only imagine how she feels about this situation after speaking so highly of Metro PCS. I want to know what we can do to resolve this issue before I seek legal action.
