Having come to the conclusion that I cannot and will not do business with wachovia, especially since they have threatened me with arrest, I attempted make arrangements for these people to come get "their" car as they call it. After being repeatedly harassed and having the situation deteriorate to the point of no return, the customer Wachovia told me they could make it all better... That indeed they would indeed accept checks from me (as they do sometimes and not others!) if I would just this once wire them the two months that I owe them... (The issue being that they have refused to cash checks some months saying they don't accept them from me and they cash other ones... Leaving me with numerous fees etc... I get conflicting stories about their policy from the rude phone operators...) HOWEVER I said that is fine I will be happy to wire the money just this once, as soon as you fax me something that sates that you will cease and desist from trying to repo my car upon receipt of that $. WELL they absolutely refused to give me anything in writing that this would be the case. I told them to go to rip off reports and to read the customers who had heard this exact scam right before thier car was repo'd... And then I told them no deal, come get the car... I am not giving you one dime until you put it in writing. They still refused and hopefully they will come get this car soon as it makes me angry just to look at it.
The reports I read on this site really helped me avoid paying money I was sure to lose. THE EXACT WORDS WERE USED that people report here, "This is my direct number... I am giving you my name and my direct number." That was exactly the scam numerous people fell for before they came to post a report here.
I told them that would do me no good in court if my car was repo'd and I needed it in writing. NO dice... They won't do it. So I believe they intend to repo my car anyways, and therefor i will not send them another dime. Thank you rip off report! And thank you to all those who got burned before me and warned me with such accuracy... The fact I could hear the same sentence that was reported here let me know THIS IS ANOTHER WACHOVIA SCAM. I used the money to secure transportaion and a lawyer, that I would have used to pay off the loan. I look forward to my day in court with these criminals.
