We received your certified letter today informing us that our truck will be sold sometime after 12/26/08. Here is our recollection of the timeline of events of the past two weeks.
Tues., Dec 9 Received Wachovia-Santa Ana invoice demanding $2,062.01 by 12/17
Wed., Dec. 10 Spoke with Pam at Wachovia-SLC. Told her that we were sending $1,000 tomorrow morning via bank-to-bank wire transfer. Told her that another $1,000 would be sent on Wed., Dec. 17. She proceeded with repossession.
Thurs., Dec. 11 Bank of the West wire transferred $1,000 to Wachovia-Santa Ana
Fri., Dec. 12 7 P.M. Two men from On Demand Repo came and picked up the truck.
Mon., Dec. 15 Spoke with Pam at Wachovia-SLC, reminded her that $1,000 had been sent on Thursday. Dec 11 and another $1,000 would be sent on Wed., Dec. 17. She informed us that the only way to get the truck back was to pay the full balance owed of approximately $20,187.
It appears to us that Wachovia would rather repossess the truck than work with the customer. At the time of repossession we were only $1,062.01 behind in payments.
Repossessing our truck, selling it for some insignificant amount, and then attempting to collect the difference from us, does nothing but force us into bankruptcy. Is that really for the good of all parties involved? This is our final plea for leniency. Can't we work something better out?
