My home loan was sold to Fairbanks from Citicorp. Fairbanks has increased my payments by $300.00, claiming to be applying it to the amount owed to escrow for back taxes which should have been paid by the original lender per our contract. I have only been paying the correct payment, not the extra $300.00. I have tried several times to get Fairbanks to correct this without success.
I have hired a lawyer to try to help me clear this up.in the meantime, my attorney said to go ahead and pay the escrow, which I did, but Fairbanks misapplied it to late fees and back payments, which I did not owe. They have also tried the "No Insurance" scam on me. I have tried to speak to a manager or someone with authority. I have received letters with people's names on it who cannot be reached by phone.
They are currently showing me eight months behind on my credit report. I just found this website and am informing my attorney. I appreciate everyone who has reported on this company, because I thought it was just me who was getting scammed.
