My 17yr old daughter was contacted by a female representative offering her unlimited Federal grant money. According to the rep. She would only pay the cost of shipping and handling-$2.99. She was informed that she would be working with a professional grant writer & would receive a disc via mail 10-14 days.
As I listened I overheard her ask for payment via credit card. I took the telephone & questioned. She identified herself as rep #1009-Bunny Jonos with Raven Media Inc. I asked that she explain the offer to me.
I was told that there was no limit to the grant money & that a disc would arrive; until the disc arrived my daughter had 7 free days to use service. I questioned more, Ms Jonos seemed to get irritated; began to spew out information for verification-contact number 866 394-0909/address 2620 S Maryland, Las Vegas-89109.
I asked whether she would receive a confirmation number; was told yes. She the asked to speak with my daughter. Apparently asking how old she was; she replied 17. I shook my head and told my daughter it was too good to be true!
I continued to ask for specifics; told my daughter to inquire about a confirmation number. Apparently she was told it would be sent to her e-mail address. Young & inexperienced, she gave information against my better judgement.including credit card information. She was informed that
Just as I thought, no e-mailed confirmation. No information period.
