How come the insurance co has nationwide phone number but the office is closed all the time

Since 09/12/07 enrolled in a group health care, two weeks later i received a package from national alliance of associations, i pay each month 369.00 which is automatic bank withdrawal, plus a 494.00 dollar enrollment fee. Now i need to use it for a doctor checkup. But i can't get any doctor to except this insurance plan, i called all the phone numbers and they only say this office is closed for today please leave your phone number and we will call you back. I am still waiting and my bank said, that i need a statement from them in order to cancel. Help please.
