I received the name and phone number to this company offering affordable health insurance. I called the number, spoke with Mr. Pat Murphy and was faxed some information on the cost for myself and my spouse.
After reveiw with my spouse, I responded to Mr. Murphy by submitted my banking information on 01/10/08 for enrollment for a couple (which was $281.00 plus $125.00 as an application fee for a total of $406.00). Mr. Murphy informed me that I would receive my insurance cards within 10 days.
As it turned out, it took until 01/30/08 for any amount to be withdrawn from my bank account. And the amount withdrawn was incorrect. Apparently, they had enrolled me in the individual plan ($188.00 plus $125.00 equaling $313.00).
I informed them by fax on 02/05/08 and 02/06/08 that the enrollment was incorrect and asked that they contact me to correct this. I also informed them that if I did not hear from them, I would contact the proper officials. As of this date, 02/13/08, I have not been able to contact them by phone nor have I received any reply from them at all. I also have not received any documentation or insurance cards.
I faxed them on 02/13/08 and demanded that they refund my money and cease any other withdrawals. I them received a fax of what I had faxed to them from National Alliance of Associations without any explanation.
I believe this is a scam and want the proper officials to investigate so that I can have my monies refunded back to me. Please let me know what else I must do. You may contact me if necessary.
