I have also had trouble processing a non-qualifying assumption with Chase Home Finance. My mother had her mortgage through them. She passed away unexpectedly and I was appointed administrator of her estate (there was no will). As sole heir, all property passed to me through a probate judge.
For six months I have gone back and forth with paperwork to the Chase Assumptions Department. I have left several messages for Cheryl Lash, the supervisor, with no returned calls. Even the probate judge called them for me, but he could not get anyone to answer the phone (a problem I commonly encounter also).
I think I am nearing the end as my file is supposedly in an analyst's inbox right now. My understanding is that I will next get an Assumption Agreement without release form and a Truth-In-Lending statement to sign, then I will assume the loan.
It was bad enough to lose my mother unexpectedly at a relatively young age, but the treatment I have received from Chase is inexcusable.
