Do not trust, will not keep their word on payment!

NCO contacted me (by phone) at the beginning of October in regards to an outstanding balance that they had been appointed to by Household Financial. The loan was originally taken out through Beneficial. I did not receive any notice in the mail in regards to the amount due, however I did know that I owed money. We had made agreement to settle my account if I paid them $600.00. I had made this agreement based on the fact that half of the amount would be charged on a credit card on October 30 and the other half be charged on November 30.

Just today, I noticed on the statement that they had charged the full amount on October 11, the day that I had given them the card number. I called them in regards to our agreement in which I was told that they do not do 2 installment payments and that their system does not hold on to the credit card number for more than 24 hours for further billing. I was not told any of this information when making arrangements for payment. The person that I spoke to with this issue was very rude and when I had mentioned to them not keeping their word, he said: " You did not keep your word when taking out the loan and if you were a responsible American and paid your bill on time, we wouldn't be having this discussion."

He knows nothing about my situation and why I was unable to pay my bill. I asked that they refund the money charged to the card and they said that they wouldn't do that because they had sent me a letter (that I had requested) saying that I had paid off my account and had a $0.00 balance due.

I have yet to receive that letter and am awaiting a phone call in regards to it. Please, be careful when dealing with these people, obviously they do not know the meaning of honesty and do not have any intentions on keeping their word. If paying off a balance with them, I would request a letter stating the amount due, the amount for pay off, and all payment arrangements agreed upon. DO NOT TRUST, that was the mistake I made.
